BDIC Launches Capacity Building Training for BSHOA on e-Parliament
The Benue Digital Infrastructure Company PLC (BDIC) commenced a hands-on Capacity Building Training for all Directors and Committee Secretaries of the Benue State House of Assembly. This training, which began on the 15th of August 2025, follows the formal launch of the Benue E-Parliament initiative by the Honorable Speaker, Rt. Hon. Aondona Dajo, on the 8th of August 2025. The exercise was designed to give participants practical exposure to the use of e-parliament tools, ensuring that the Assembly is fully prepared for a smooth transition into digital legislative operations.

The training also formed part of BDIC’s broader implementation strategy for the Benue e-Parliament. Beyond knowledge transfer, the rollout includes the provision of computers and the integration of fiber optic internet infrastructure across the Assembly. These tools will guarantee secure, efficient, and real-time digital operations, enhancing committee work, documentation, legislative debates, and public accountability. With these digital assets in place, the Assembly is well-positioned to achieve higher levels of legislative efficiency and transparency.

This bold step demonstrates the commitment of the Speaker and the leadership of the Benue State House of Assembly to institutionalize technology-driven lawmaking. By partnering with BDIC, the Assembly is setting a precedent for other state legislatures in Nigeria, showing how digital infrastructure can transform governance and citizen participation. It also underscores the resolve of Benue State to align with national and global standards of digital transformation while strengthening democratic institutions through innovation.
