The Managing Director/CEO of Benue Digital Infrastructure Company PLC (BDIC) had an extraordinary day in the journey to a digital Benue—a day defined by innovation, strategic collaboration, and tangible steps towards the digital revolution being championed by His Excellency, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormen Alia, the Executive Governor of Benue State. Hosting Dr. Bashir Tenuche, Director General of the Kogi State ICT Development Agency, on a study tour and collaboration mission with BDIC, we engaged with diverse stakeholders, exchanged forward-looking ideas, and showcased the cutting-edge initiatives positioning Benue as a leading state in Nigeria’s digital economy.
From capacity building to next-generation skills training, the day embodied the Governor’s vision of a digitally literate, innovation-driven Benue. At the Benue Public Service Institute, we interacted with participants of Cohort 19 under the 40,000 capacity development programme, led by the DG, Prof. Terkura Tarnande. This initiative is empowering civil and public servants with the digital competencies needed for efficient governance, data-driven decision-making, and smarter public service delivery—key pillars of the Governor’s smart governance agenda.

Our journey continued to the BDIC headquarters, where the ongoing hands-on Summer Tech Training for children revealed the Governor’s commitment to nurturing a generation of digital natives from an early age. By equipping children with practical skills in technology, we are not only bridging the digital divide but also laying the foundation for future innovators, creators, and problem-solvers who will power the state’s economy for decades to come.
Equally groundbreaking was the stakeholders’ engagement with all committee secretaries of the Benue State House of Assembly on the implementation of the Benue State e-Parliament. This bold step toward legislative digitalization will streamline legislative processes, enhance transparency, promote accountability, and ensure citizen-centric governance—all in line with the Governor’s vision for a connected and tech-enabled Benue.
We concluded with strategic discussions with the MD/CEO of the Benue State Geo-Mining Company Ltd, underscoring how digital infrastructure and data technologies can revolutionize resource management and economic diversification in the state. Collectively, these engagements mark a decisive move toward a future where governance, education, economy, and innovation intersect seamlessly—anchored on the digital revolution spearheaded by His Excellency. Benue State is not just embracing technology; we are building a smart, sustainable, and globally competitive digital ecosystem.
