Digital Future in Focus: BDIC Hosts Rector of Akawe Torkula Polytechnic to Drive Digital Transformation in Benue State.
The Benue Digital Infrastructure Company (BDIC) today hosted the Rector and management team of Akawe Torkula Polytechnic, Makurdi, in an engagement that sets the stage for a transformative collaboration between the institution and BDIC.
The meeting, which aligns with BDIC’s mandate of driving digital transformation across Benue State, focused on showcasing practical digital solutions that will support the Polytechnic in achieving compliance, operational efficiency, and future-readiness in today’s digital era.
During the session, BDIC demonstrated four key solutions:
1. Electronic Document Management System (EDMS): Beyond digitizing records, this solution represents accountability, security, and seamless administrative workflows for the Polytechnic. It ensures that every document is preserved, easily retrievable, and tamper-proof, strengthening institutional credibility.
2. E-Conferencing Solutions: More than virtual meetings, this represents access to collaboration and knowledge-sharing across borders. For the Polytechnic, it opens doors to partnerships, guest lectures, and research exchanges without geographical limitations.
3. Portal/Website Solutions: This is not just an online platform, but a gateway of visibility and access. For students, it means easier registration, result access, and communication. For the school, it represents transparency, improved service delivery, and a stronger institutional brand in the digital space.
4. E-Library Platform: Beyond digital books, this is a window to global knowledge. It gives students and faculty access to vast learning resources, making research faster, richer, and more impactful. For the Polytechnic, it represents a step towards becoming a competitive academic hub in the 21st century.
The presentations were led by Mr. Michael Idu (Group Head, Special Projects), supported by BDIC experts Cephas Abur, Barnabas Zege, Bem, and Valentine.
For Akawe Torkula Polytechnic, this engagement signals a major step toward digital compliance and excellence in education. For BDIC, it reinforces our mandate to build a digitally empowered Benue, where schools, businesses, and government institutions are equipped to thrive in a knowledge-driven economy.
