Benue Steps Into the Future: BDIC Launches EDMS Training to Digitize All Government Ministries by 2025
In a decisive move toward achieving full digitalization of the Benue State Civil Service, the Benue Digital Infrastructure Company (BDIC) today commenced a comprehensive training on the implementation of the Benue State Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) at the Ministry of Lands and Survey.
The training marks a critical step in meeting the November 2025 deadline set by His Excellency, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, Executive Governor of Benue State, for the complete digital transformation of government operations across all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
Speaking during the opening session, the BDIC team emphasized that the EDMS will automate document processing, enhance inter-departmental collaboration, and eliminate manual record-keeping, thereby improving efficiency, transparency, and accountability within the public service.
The Ministry of Lands and Survey, being a key driver of land administration and data management in the state, is among the first MDAs to undergo this specialized training. BDIC reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that all ministries are fully equipped and operational within the stipulated timeline, in line with the Digital Benue Agenda championed by Governor Alia.
With the commencement of this training, Benue State takes another bold step toward a paperless, efficient, and digitally empowered civil service—a testament to the government’s vision for a modern, technology-driven public administration.
