A delegation from the Benue State Education Quality Assurance and Examinations Board (BEQAEB) on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, paid a courtesy visit to the Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Benue Digital Infrastructure Company PLC (BDIC), Mr. Gbande-Hembaor Terwase, AFCPN at the company’s headquarters in Makurdi.
Speaking during the visit, the Director of Planning, Partnerships and International Cooperation, Mr. Terfa Dera, explained that the delegation came to formally congratulate the GMD/CEO on his appointment and to commend the transformational strides recorded by BDIC under his leadership.
He noted that the visit was also aimed at understudying the company’s operations and exploring areas of collaboration that would enhance the Board’s capacity to deliver on its mandate to the people of Benue State.
Mr. Dera outlined the critical challenges facing the Board, including inadequate internet connectivity, shortage of computer devices for data capture, and the need for digital tools to support examination and quality assurance processes.
He requested partnership with BDIC in key areas such as the implementation of hybrid examinations and eventual transition to full paperless assessments; establishment of state-owned CBT centres; deployment of technology-enabled tools for Education Quality Assurance (EQA) activities; and training and capacity building for staff in basic digital literacy and the use of modern EQA technologies.
Responding on behalf of the GMD/CEO, the Head of Admin/HR, Mr. Msughter Gyanggyang, thanked the delegation for the visit and reaffirmed BDIC’s commitment to supporting institutions working towards the digital transformation of Benue State.
He assured the visitors that their requests would receive due attention, noting that the areas identified for collaboration fall squarely within BDIC’s mandate to drive innovation, strengthen public institutions, and expand digital infrastructure across the state.
The visit ended with a guided tour of the BDIC facility, where the delegation was shown various components of the company’s digital ecosystem, including the newly unveiled BDIC-branded hardware such as 3-in-1 desktop computers, laptops, tablets, and projectors.
The Board expressed satisfaction with the visit and optimism that the emerging partnership would significantly improve education quality assurance processes in Benue State.
