The Group Managing Director/CEO of Benue Digital Infrastructure Company PLC (BDIC) and President/CEO of Africa Digital Infrastructure Company Ltd- Afdic, Gbande Hembaor Terwase was on Saturday represented by Samson Dzungwe, Technical Assistant I to the GMD/CEO, at the EdTech Conference 2026, themed:
“From Disruption to Transformation: Building Smart Classrooms in the Era of AI.”
The event, hosted by EL-PENIEL TECH PRIME at Norcross Cathedral Youth Hall, Otukpo, Benue State, brought together stakeholders to shape the future of digital education.
As a panelist, he contributed to discussions on “The Role of Government in Implementing the Digital Education System,” emphasising that:
Digital education must be intentionally designed and led by government.
He highlighted key pillars for success:
• Clear policy direction and vision
• Investment in broadband, power, and smart infrastructure
• Sustainable funding and partnerships
• Continuous teacher capacity development
• Curriculum aligned with AI and future skills
• Data privacy and quality regulation
• Inclusive access for all learners
• Public-private collaboration
He also acknowledged the leadership of His Excellency, FrFr. Hyacinth Iormem Alian advancing education through technology in Benue State.
Key ongoing initiatives highlighted include:
• The e-Dossier System digitising student records
• Proposed e-Scheme of Work and e-Curriculum Systems
• The upcoming Benue State Integrated
• Education Management System, developed by BDIC, to unify education administration and enable data-driven decisions
These efforts reflect a deliberate push to institutionalise e-learning and build a scalable smart education framework across Benue State.
