The Benue Digital Infrastructure Company (BDIC) participated in the Fortis LAWSAN Week 2025 panel session organised by the Law Students Association of Nigeria (LAWSAN), Rev. Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu University Makurdi (MOUAM).
The GMD/CEO of BDIC, Gbande Hembaor Terwase, and the President/CEO of the African Digital Infrastructure Company was represented by Samson Dzungwe, Technical Assistant to the GMD, BDIC.
At the session, BDIC and AfDIC highlighted its strategic use of digital infrastructure as a tool for justice delivery, public security, and crime prevention, with strong emphasis on the digitisation of the Benue State Judiciary through the Judiciary and Justice Management Information System (JJMIS).
Through JJMIS, BDIC and AfDIC is supporting the Benue State Judiciary to digitize:
Judicial Processes
• Electronic filing and case initiation
• Digital tracking of cases from filing to judgement
• Secure record management to minimize loss or tampering
Case Management
• Automated case assignment and scheduling
• Real-time monitoring of case progress
• Reduction of delays associated with manual processes
Court Administration
• Digitized court registries
• Improved administrative oversight
• Enhanced data-driven decision-making
Public Safety & Crime Prevention (Hospitality Sector)
• Deployment of a Digital Crime Diary for hotels and hospitality businesses to log incidents in real time
• Structured digital records to support investigations, intelligence sharing, and legal processes
• Improved collaboration between businesses, law enforcement, and the justice system.
In addition, the Benue State Government, through BDIC, in partnership with Novus Microfinance Bank and AfDIC, has launched the One Citizen, One Device, One Digital Skill Scheme. The initiative supports technology adoption and capacity building for students, civil servants, academia, and the health sector, with access to high-quality devices payable over 24 months.
BDIC also announced that registration is ongoing for the training of 23,000 youths across all 23 LGAs in Benue State under the Digital Skills Program: https://digitalskills.benuestate.gov.ng/
