Today, the Benue Digital Infrastructure Company (BDIC), in collaboration with the Africa Digital Infrastructure Ltd (AfDIC), hosted a significant One-Day Co-Creation Stakeholder Engagement Meeting on the Use and Implementation of the Benue E-Parliament System at the prestigious Nnam Hall & Hotel, Makurdi, Benue State, Nigeria.
The landmark engagement brought together staff of the Benue State House of Assembly, directors, committee clerks, ICT personnel, and key partners to deepen their understanding of the innovative E-Parliament system designed to digitize legislative operations, enhance transparency, improve administrative efficiency, and modernize governance in line with global digital standards.
A major highlight of the event was the official provision and distribution of brand-new laptops to all Committees and Directorates of the Benue State House of Assembly. This strategic investment equips every arm of the Assembly with the tools required for seamless adoption and effective use of the E-Parliament platform, ensuring readiness for a fully digital legislative process.
Participants engaged in practical demonstrations, hands-on sessions, and collaborative discussions on the core features of the Benue E-Parliament System – covering digital documentation, e-plenary support, workflow automation, secure communication, and advanced data management.
The co-creation approach ensured that Assembly staff contributed directly to strengthening the system’s functionality and long-term sustainability.
This initiative is in alignment with the visionary digital transformation agenda of His Excellency Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormen Alia, and reflects the commitment of both BDIC and AfDIC to support public institutions with modern digital governance solutions.
The meeting concluded with strengthened collaboration, enhanced capacity, and a renewed sense of ownership among stakeholders as Benue State positions itself as a leading pioneer in digital legislative governance through the implementation of the Benue E-Parliament System.
